THE ABANDONED RIDE - THE LAST OF THE SUMMER RIDES

5.9.10

An extra early start at 07.00 on Sunday morning meant that we could take advantage of the quieter roads. Our objective was Partrishow in the Black Mountains. The forecast was fair, but it did not look too good as the lanes of Glascoed and Monkswood were enjoyed. After an excellent climb up the narrow Rumble Street the heavens opened and we started to get wet. Going by the weather forecast in Wales is a bit of a gamble and one we certainly lost today! With no wet weather gear the escape was made along the canal to New Inn and then home via the old abandoned road.....20 miles.
