After some thought I decided to change my saddle. The Brooks Swift I had been using for 8 years was still in good shape as was the B17 on my touring bike which had given me excellent service for the last 13 years. I liked the comfort and the classic styling of the B17 but with it's steel rails it is a bit on the heavy side. At Bike 07 in Earl's Court, London, there was a Brook's stand where a new brown B17 with titanium rails took my eye. Brooks have been making saddles in Birmingham since 1888. In the old days they were the saddle to have on any continental racing machine. In 2000 they were bought out by Selle Royal of Italy; fortunately they have kept the traditional styling going. My B17 is no exception its comfortable ride and now light weight make it more like a work of art than a saddle. I think it is going to give me good service as all my Brooks have!
