EVENING RIDE TO BLAENAVON.

24.6.12

Midsummer's day had arrived, however the weather did not match the title! The wettest June for years had been endured but this evening it had turned dry and sunny, so an evening ride was planned.  I had decided to give my Mercian it's summer airing, new cranks dérailleur and cogs had transformed my favourite bike yet again! Leaving Croesyceiliog and then along the cycle track to Pontypool the path is a long and gradual climb, following the valley north on the course of the old railway line. Eventually after1200ft of climbing the brothers arrived above Blaenavon. There then ensued a fast sprint down the valley to arrive back home at 22:00....20 miles.
