Good Friday afternoon was here so we set off on a short ride out to Usk. Due to work commitments I had not been cycling for a couple of  weeks but Nick had been doing his usual commute to work, consiquently I suffered a bit in the early stages of the ride, especially on the steep climb up to the Croesyllwarch crossroads. From here it was a pleasant amble through the village of Tredunnock and then dropping down to and then over the bridge at Newbridge-on-Usk. There was a bit of a cold headwind on the old Roman road along the Usk valley but after cycling to Llanllowel it was a very enjoyable ride to Usk travelling via the flood-route. There were many cyclists out today, including a gentleman on a Longstaff trike! From Usk there was a pleasant ride enjoyed on our 'traditional' route home via Prescoed, Coed-y-Paen  and the Treherbert road....20 miles.
