THE MYSTERIOUS TRELLECH GRANGE.

01/06/08

It was time to take a relaxing route after the horrors of our camping trip the week before! A Sunday morning on the first of June, it seemed like summer, at last, was upon us. After a dull start it quickly warmed up as we cycled out to Usk through the sweet lanes of Monmouthshire. Our route took us through the leafy dark paths of Monkswood and then a quick sprint to Usk. After stopping at the shop in Usk our bikes took us on up the road to Llangwm. There were many cyclists out, but none were seen on our favourite climb up through Wolvesnewton and then up Cobbler's Plain. An 'up and down' to Trellech Grange was enjoyed before riding to Llanishen. The Star Pitch was taken at great speed and then we ambled along to Usk and had a good ride up the ‘traditional' through Prescoed, Coed-y-Paen and the Trehebert road....35 miles.
