Wester Ross frame 234
Original owner Rod Stacey has sent me these great photos and information about his superb, original condition Wester Ross. Rod had the frame built in about 1982 as a touring frame with the Jim Blackburn racks fitted. The frame itself has vertical dropouts and a sloping fork-crown and the colour is the original, classic, black with gold lining. The bike was originally fitted with drop bars and a TA double chainset but Rod converted it to straight bars, and the TA chainset was discarded for the stiffer Stronglight triple as per photo It also had Mafac cantilever brakes fitted but they were discarded for Shimano ones which Rod preferred. Rod built the wheels himself (Rod's first attempt at wheel-building) and they still run true! Thanks Rod!
