Wester Ross frame 477. The last Wester Ross.
I had the pleasure of going to visit John Connell, Wester Ross Cycles founder, at his home in Yorkshire. John showed me 3 WR's, (one solo frame, a tandem frame and one complete bike). Here is frame number 477 which was the last Wester Ross to be made. Constructed from '531' with ornate hand-carved lugs it is finished in gleaming goss black enamel, white transfers and with the lugs outlined in gold. The frame also has chromed chainstays done in the unusual Wester Ross method of plating before brazing hence the painted rear dropouts. The frame number had the suffix 'FGF' which indicates that it was made by Fergus Forsythe, John's assistant frame builder. The first picture below is John Connell himself holding the frame.
